We are open with safety in mind

We are so pleased to have successfully maintained our in-person classes safely without any transmission since reopening in September.

By wearing masks, increasing ventilation, decreasing class sizes, and taking temperatures upon arrival, our daily operations have proven effective in mitigating the virus.  Beyond protecting the physical health of our dancers, we are supporting their emotional well-being by providing consistent in-person interaction and social engagement. Best of all, our students and teachers are doing what they love most – dancing together at GDS!

Studio Safety Improvements

Improved Air Quality

Improved ventilation efficiency with newly installed MERV13 filters to significantly reduce opportunity for airborne transmission of infectious aerosols.

Frequent Disinfecting

Studios and high-touch areas will be disinfected between each class. Bathrooms and common spaces will be cleaned and disinfected at various points throughout the day.

Virtual Flexibility

Newly installed AV equipment to enhance virtual offerings and provide flexibility for families if and when they may wish to avoid in person classes throughout the semester.

Face Coverings

Dancers, teachers and staff members must wear masks at all times while in the building. We ask that dancers arrive in a mask, with a secondary mask packed in their bag. GDS will provide disposable masks as necessary.

Temperature Checks

Dancers, teachers and staff members will have their temperatures checked before entering the building. Anyone with a temperature over 100° will not be permitted into the studio that day and will be followed up with.

Hand Sanitizer Stations

Dancers, teachers, and staff members will be required to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building. No-touch hand sanitizer stations will additionally be made available throughout common areas, hallways, and studio spaces.

Pick Up and Drop Off Tent

We will be providing an additional outside waiting area by installing a tent over our front patio, where students can safely wait after class in a sheltered but outdoor space.

Dressing Rooms

Dressing rooms will be extremely limited as dancers must arrive prepared for class. We will modify our attire requirements in order to help simplify where necessary.

Limited Class Size

Significantly reduced enrollment across 70+ weekly classes, by re-arranging rosters, focusing on school schedules, building capacity and social distancing measures.
