COMPANY 2024-25

EXPECTATIONS
ATTIRE
Bringing a fully stocked dance bag each class is a requirement and helps to save time, allowing for everything to run that much smoother! Dance bags should include hair supplies, all shoes (Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Character, Socks in a mesh bag), extra tights and first aid. Although this is required of all GDS dancers, it is especially important for Company to set an example for the rest of the student body, in an effort to teach proper preparedness.
Please see Company Attire Requirements below:
CONDUCT
As members of GDS Company, you play a crucial leadership role in representing our studio and serving as role models to the student body. These responsibilities include but are not limited to your conduct and behavior inside and outside of class, as well as on social media. This representation should be portrayed with accountability, enthusiasm, and a willingness to elevate those around you, setting an example for the rest of the student body. In the classroom, there should be trust for the teacher’s process, structure and creative vision, and a level of respect to all faculty, administrators and staff. Any concerns can always be brought to us confidentially.
ATTENDANCE
Any missed classes must be put in writing via email to office@greenwichdancestudio.com. We of course understand there may be an unavoidable conflict, emergency or illness, but ask that our Company members make dancing at Greenwich Dance Studio a priority. We expect that dancers will make every effort to maintain consistent weekly class attendance. There may also be additional events, master classes, teaching/assisting opportunities where we rely on your flexibility, commitment and communication.
BE A TEAM PLAYER
Be sure to familiarize yourself with our policies, announcements, calendar, etc. In order to operate most effectively, we will need prompt responses and cooperation from both dancers and parents for a successful year. Being part of such a sought after group requires incredible discipline and commitment that we expect to be upheld throughout the season. In addition, as GDS representatives, if there are any outside, GDS associated projects (apparel, performances, volunteer work, etc…) please be sure to communicate with the Studio first.
If you would like to schedule a meeting with Kate to discuss a particular matter, please reach out to the office (office@greenwichdancestudio.com) to arrange a day and time. Please also indicate the nature of the discussion, so that we can best prepare and schedule with enough time.
